A ski holiday in Kitzbuhel offers an extensive ski area with a world cup down hill run and a beautiful medieval village that has cobbled streets and a lovely atmosphere. Do not be put off by this resorts reputation of being upmarket with top end hotels and restaurants as there are a good variety of well priced hotels and chalets. These offer fantastic value for a resort of this calibre. Chalet Karlberger leads in from £559 per person or you can stay on an all inclusive basis in the Hotel Hofer which is close to the lifts and the resort centre.

Kitzbuhel Skiing and Boarding

The extensive slopes offer 170 Km of piste and are linked in with Kirchberg and other smaller villages such as Jochberg. Intermediates and more advanced skiers and boarders must of course try the world cup Hahnenkamm downhill where even Franz Klammer would get nervous on the Mausfalle and Steilhang section! There are some seriously steep runs to get the heart racing on, such as the Direttissima. There is also a fantastic amount of good off piste to explore when conditions allow. Do stay safe and use a guide if venturing off piste. Beginners will find that there are some lovely long blue runs to perfect their turns on. The nursery slopes on The Horn are high and sunny so great for learning.

Kitzbuhel Apres Ski

There is something for everyone in Kitzbuhel. There are plenty of apres ski bars with live music and dancing or if you prefer tea with cake and pastries then you are well catered for. Off the slopes there is still plenty to do such as swim in the Aquarena leisure centre. There is also an ice rink for ice skating and ice hockey matches. Day trips to the likes of Salzburg are also easy by just jumping on the train.
