Kaprun Ski Holidays

Kaprun is a lively and popular resort that is set at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. The resort is spread over quite a large area so it is recommended to stay centrally so that you are close to the action.

Kaprun Skiing and Snowboarding

There is a good variety of pistes that are located at high altitude giving guaranteed skiing on the glacier. The lift pass not only covers Kaprun but also covers neighbouring Zell am See as well which is connected by local bus. Beginners will enjoy the nursery slopes down on Lechnerberg beside the village centre. There are also some lovely gentle blues on the glacier to progress onto. Intermediates will be very happy with the 130Kms of piste available to them. They are mainly gently blues and reds so plenty of cruising to be had. Experts will find a good contrast of wide open pistes and powder on the glacier. The most challenging pistes are on Zell am See's Schmittenhohe Mountain and the Maiskogel has goo doff piste. Again, please always take a guide if venturing off piste. Snowboarders will enjoy the wide open powder bowl. There are also three terrain parks.

Kaprun Apres Ski

Kaprun offers a variety of apres ski from lively bars such as the Baum and the local discos to quieter more rustic stubes. Off the slopes there is the Optimum Sports Centre that has an indoor pool and fitness studio. There is also a tennis and squash centre in case you still have energy to burn after a day on the slopes. Kaprun also has an ice skating rink, sledging, sleigh rides, horse drawn sleigh rides and bowling.
