Sierra Nevada Ski Holidays

Sierra Nevada is set high in the mountains above the historical city of Granada. It is one of the highest resorts in Europe so boasts a fantastic snow record. The views over the Mediterranean and the high number of sunny days make it a good choice. The heart of the resort is in Pradollano where the shops, bars and restaurants are all set around a traffic free area.

Sierra Nevada Skiing and Boarding

Sierra Nevada offers a good variety of slopes for skiers and boarders of all standards. Take the lift up to Borreguiles which is in the heart of the ski area and you will find fantastic nursery slopes for learning on. Intermediates will find six ski sectors offering 87Kms of piste to play on with plenty of blues and reds. Those that are seeking more of a challenge will find trickier runs from the Borreguilles. More advanced skiers should head towards the Monachil area that provides a number of black runs along with moguls. There are also some off piste trails from the top of Valeta. Advanced freeriders should head for the Veleta peak and try the Tajos de la Virgen run. There is also a good board park with half-pipe and a good range of jumps and rails.  

Sierra Nevada Apres Ski

Sierra Nevada has good lively après ski, with plenty of bars to choose from and a friendly Spanish welcome. You could try the Pub Chiminea, Sticky Fingers, Sol Soho or Mango. Off the slopes there is a sports club with indoor pool, solarium and aerobics room. Day trips to Granada and the Alhambra Palace are also possible. There is also ice skating, snow mobiling, snow biking, dog sledding and sleigh rides so plenty to do. If you are not skiing or boarding during the day you could also follow one of the Winter mountain walks.
