Sauze dOulx Ski Holidays

Sauze D’Oulx is one of the five villages that make up the Milky Way and it needs little introduction to many British skiers and boarders who return year after year for the fantastic range of skiing. Sauze is a well priced and cheerful option for those wanting extensive un-crowded slopes, entertaining nightlife and some off piste. The village has an attractive old centre with narrow, windy streets and houses roofed with huge stone slabs. There is a central car free zone.

Sauze dOulx Skiing and Snowboarding

Sauze D’Oulx’s mountains are spread across a broad wooded bowl above the resort that ranges from West to North facing. The village nursery slope is at the foot of the Clotes chairlift but the main area which most beginners tend to use is at Sportinia. This is a wide open plateau with easy runs. The whole area is splendid for confident intermediates who want to clock up the miles. The parallel Rocce Nere chairlifts extend from the Sportinia to Monte Triplex and from the top there is a vast choice of red runs linking the Monte Triplex area with Rocce Nere. The Moncrons area will be a challenge for more advanced skiers and boarders and the Genevris area also covers some off piste opportunities. Cross over to Sestriere and Sansicario for a race down the World Championship Kandahar run.

Sauze dOulx Apres Ski

Sauze has après ski to impress both young and old as there is something for everyone. The Assietta terrace is popular at the end of the day as well as the Forgia. The New Scotch bar in the hotel Stella Alpina is also a popular choice of many. After dinner head out again as more and more bars warm up for the evening such as the atmospheric cocktail bar Moncrons or the Gran Trun. Osteria dei Vagabondi has live music. If you fancy dancing till late then head to the likes of Clarabella. Off the slopes you can have a shot on the Olympic bobsleigh run at Sansicario.
