Ski America Online

As we are keen skiers and snowboarders at Ski Europe Online we venture across the Atlantic to North America every now and then to savour the delights of skiing the North American way for a change. We are never disappointed as the customer service is superb and what you see is what you get. We have www.skiamericaonline.co.uk where you can peruse the huge amount of resorts and properties on offer throughout both Canada and America. In the mean time below are a few resorts to get you in the mood for thinking about skiing North America....

Ski Canada

The resorts on the West of Canada provide huge amounts of powder snow because of the precipitation coming in from the sea. The snow tends to be really dry and proper champagne stuff!

Whistler is a favourite of many from the UK as you fly into the wonderful city of Vancouver then it is just a 2 hour transfer up to resort. Home of the Olympic Games in 2010 you will not be disappointed with the new Peak 2 Peak gondola that links Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. There is a good variety of hotels and condos in Whistler to choose from and you could always have a night to explore Vancouver on the way home.

Sun Peaks is a family favourite as it is just a short transfer from Kamloops and the amenities in resort are fantastic for families with plenty going on every day. Skiing is ideal for beginners and more advanced skiers will the fact that every chairlift accesses all standards of ski run.

Silver Star and Big White sit next door to each other in the interior of BC. With an average or 23 feet of dry powder snow you can’t go wrong. Silver Star has varied terrain to suit all abilities and you will stay in a traditional ski in/ski out Victorian style village. Big White has over 2,750 acres of skiable terrain, making it the second biggest mountain in BC. Children get a FREE lift pass if they are under 15yrs!

Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper sit in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and will not disappoint. Banff has 3 main ski areas so something suitable for all standards and accommodation that is fantastic value. Lake Louise offers some fantastic views with world class skiing. The Tri-area lift pass covers Sunshine Village and Banff Mount Norquay so a massive area to play in. Jasper is a national park so you will be skiing amongst the elk, deer and various other protected wildlife which is always amazing.

Panorama offers nearly 3000 acres of skiing as well as access to the world’s largest Heli Ski area.

Kicking Horse has been a secret for many years but now the secret is out it is getting bigger and better. This area is fantastic for more advanced skiers and snowboarders as there is plenty of off piste terrain to explore.

Fernie has legendary amounts of snow every year and is an amazing resort for all abilities. There are 5 bowls to play in and fantastic chutes and glades to get the heart racing! The Lizard Creek Lodge is a favourite to stay in as it is ski in/ski out with quality facilities.

Tremblant over on the East coast offers exceptional value, high quality accommodation and a shorter flight from the UK. A fantastic family resort with a good ski school and pedestrian village.

Ski America

There are so many resorts on offer in America so here are some of our favourites!

Colorado offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding in the setting of the Rockies. The luxurious pistes and hotels of Aspen and the up market resorts of Beaver Creek and Vail sit alongside the old mining towns of Breckenridge, Steamboat and Winter Park. Buy the Epic area pass and ski Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek and Heavenly – Arapahoe is our favourite area to ski!

Park City and Snowbird ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’ 3 fantastic ski areas under one lift ticket and just a 45 min transfer from the airport to Park City. The main area to stay in Park City itself that offers luxury ski in/ski out hotels and quality condos.

Jackson Hole is also a real favourite of ours. The famous Corbett’s Couloir is worth a look as it’s very scary to look over but only to be skied by the real daredevil skiers! (Not me!)You really feel like you are in cowboy territory in the town and you will no doubt bump into a real cowboy in one of the bars! Up on the mountain Jackson is known for its steep and deep powder but it is also great for beginners and intermediates with plenty of well groomed runs for all. We recommend the Parkway Inn and pack your powder skis!

Lake Tahoe has 14 ski resorts on its shores with fantastic panoramic views of the clear blue lake. If you are looking for a relaxed family ski holiday or a full on ski hard party hard holiday then we will find right accommodation and resort for you as there are plenty to choose from. The multi-resort lift ticket means you can take advantage of all the ski resorts in easy reach. We can offer Heavenly, Northstar and Squaw Valley on our Ski America website

Remember that we can also tailor make a trip for you where you could have a week in one resort then transfer to another with maybe a city stop over in the likes of New York on your way home. Whatever your dream is for skiing and snowboarding in North America let us know and we will organise it for you!
