Galtur Ski Holidays

Galtur is a lovely, peaceful and traditional little village that is set at the top of the valley. This is a quieter and better priced option than neighbouring Ischgl so is a good base for families and mixed ability groups. There is a free bus service to Ischgl that is quick and efficient. Accommodation is made up of 3 and 4 star hotels.

Galtur Skiing and Snowboarding

Galtur’s slopes are reached with a short bus ride from the village to the lift station at Wirl. There are 6 sectors of the area and are best suited to beginners and intermediates. There is a good nursery area for beginners that are learning and the intermediates will be fine on all the terrain including the black runs. More advanced skiers and boarders will want to buy the Silvretta area pass as they will ski the Galtur sector quickly and will want to take the bus over to Ischgl to explore the neighbouring areas.

Galtur Apres Ski

Galtur has some good bars that you could head to after a day on the slopes. Alternatively Ischgl is 10 mins in a taxi so a good alternative if you are wanting a good night out. The taxis run 24/7. Off the slopes there is a sports centre with pool, tennis and squash. There is also an Alpinarium which is an avalanche protection structure that has an exhibition centre which will be interesting to visit. Once a week there is night skiing and dog sledding.
